Through out the past year I have been to a number of different locations..
1) For all of my different location shoots
2) Just for adventures and exploration
So given that most of NSW is about to come out lockdown I'm going to share with you some of my top locations to visit (once lockdown allows!). Today, we will look at some of the beautiful beaches either in or around NSW that I can personally recommend for adventures and shoots alike. They're in no particular order but I will include the different facilities and places available nearby.
BUT before you set out to the beach, make sure you check the weather! Pack your sunscreen, your hat, your sunnies and something to sit under for shade as some of these places Ive gotten very very burnt 😅

My favourite beach spots
As it's pretty well known, I love a beach shoot or even just a beach day. I'm not a girl that enjoys sitting on the sand for hours but I love when I get the chance to explore the different areas around the beaches, including rock pools etc. These are my top 7 beaches that I've had the chance to explore in the past year 😌
1. Little Bay Beach - Randwick City Council Area

So this would definitely have to be one of my favourite beaches the isn't too far for me to travel to. Not only is the beach (pictured) beautiful but if you head around to left instead theres also another small beach there.
If you continue around to left there is also a number of different sized rock pools that are home to small fish, crabs and other different types of marine life. If you keep going theres a number of different types of beautiful rocks to explore and climb. If you head around to the right when you get there you'll find a number of different cliff faces with some amazing views and different little inlets for spear fishing.

2. Congwong and Little Congwong Beach - Randwick City Council Area

So this one I've been to a few times, twice for shoots and a few times just for fun. The good thing about this beach is that if you're adventurous enough and keep heading along congwong beach you'll find another walkway. Over this walkway is the adult only beach which is also an unofficial nude beach, by unofficial I mean I've googled it and its not legally a nudist beach but is well known as one.
Around Congwong again you'll find an array of different stones to explore and pose on. As seen in the picture there is also a bridgeway that goes across to 'Bare Island' fort. The fort itself you can go into on guided tours only but cannot access usually. You can, however, go around the outside of the fort itself and go all the way around the island where you'll find amazing sandstone and views to the ocean.
On top the grass hill there is also a small castle type structure called 'The Barack Tower' which is surrounded by green grass hills perfect for picnics.
Food Recommendation!
The last time I went here was with the kids I work with and we walked down to 'The Boatshed' and grabbed some takeaway to go and eat. Although it was pricey, it was well worth it! I had fish and chips and the battered fish was huge with lots of chips and the kids had cheeseburgers and chips which they also thoroughly enjoyed.

3. Wattamolla Beach & Falls - Royal National Park

As someone who grew up in the Shire and spent a lot of time here exploring as a child, if you go on a weekend, go early or do not go at all. This place packs out very early, they've got heaps of parking but theres also a whole tonne of different spaces to explore so there is always a whole heap of people!
As you can see though, people visit because its literally beautiful. You can go down here at picnic at the area pictured to the left, you can walk straight right from the carpark and brave jumping off the Waterfall, you can go down through the bush, down to the inlet and swim down there or at the beach that's also there (Not pictured) AND for my more adventurous types there is hiking tracks from here to take you to the infamous Wedding Cake Rock (Closed to the public for safety reasons so always pay attention to barriers).
I have had photos done down here before, but unfortunately, after almost year, I still haven't received a single photo back 😔

4. Queens Beach - Via the Hermitage Foreshore Walk - Vaucluse

I went here for a shoot one lazy Saturday, left my hair up in two buns and we were supposed to be walking all the way to Milk Beach but little old lazy me saw Queens Beach and fell in love with the instead.
It can be a little difficult to find your way down straight to the beaches (and for adventures sake) I would definitely recommend doing the Hermitage Foreshore Walk to find your way to one or both beaches. It has beautiful views of the harbour bridge, beautiful white sand and small bits of shade for your own comfort.

I haven't been yet, but I have also heard that Milk Beach is beautiful so heres a photo of what I missed out on because I was lazy 😊
I'll also include a button below for you too look at more information to do with the walk.

5. Clifton Gardens - Mosman Council

I have only been to this location the one time it was way too sunny and way too packed to shoot on the beach so we decided to make use of the Wharf and boat shed (Not pictured). To find the boasted we shot with you need to head down to the left of the beach on arrival and walk around toward the next wharf.

6. Chinamans Beach - Mosman Council

Another Location that I have only visited the one time but the beach itself was beautiful. With shallow water and different rock structures around to the left, its a beautiful spot for sunrise shoots and beach shoots alike. Because I went early in the morning I found paid parking pretty early but apparently this tends to fill up but theres parking around the reserve anyhow.

Facilities: Shower and toilet facilities, BBQ's and Picnic Areas, Small playground (At Rosherville Reserve)

7. Stanwell Park Beach - Stanwell Park (Toward Wollongong)

I've been down the coast a few times for shoots but between this one and the next beach, they would have to be two of my favourite beaches heading down south, without heading past Wollongong (For me that's still not a long drive).
When I went down here to shoot, we found a quiet, almost concealed corner, where we were able to take some topless shots. The beach was also very quiet around sunset even though it was Summer so it wasn't too hard to stay hidden and have some privacy while still having beautiful picturesque views.

Facilities: Bathrooms and showers, BBQ Facilities

8. Thirroul Beach - Thirroul (Near Wollongong)

Another one of my favourite beaches heading down south. One of the best things about Thirroul is not only the different spaces you have to work with but theres also other beaches surrounding so if it's too busy at Thirroul theres plenty of others around here.
Here Jorge and I got some beautiful beach, reflection, rock and even some great action shots all while only having a few people hundreds of metres down the beach from us.
